Google founders surprised us to the letter – the rise of the Alphabet

On 10th of August 2015 we were the witnesses of a breakthrough. Google decided to re-brand and from now on calls itself Alphabet.

Let’s start with a quote from the announcement written by Larry Page:

From the start, we’ve always strived to do more, and to do important and meaningful things with the resources we have.

We did a lot of things that seemed crazy at the time. Many of those crazy things now have over a billion users, like Google Maps, YouTube, Chrome, and Android. And we haven’t stopped there. We are still trying to do things other people think are crazy but we are super excited about.

And because of all that, Sergey Brin and Larry Page have introduced to us a new parent company – Alphabet – that they will be running together.

Alphabet is supposed to be overriding to all Google sectors, including Google itself, which now has a new CEO – Sundar Pichari. All the other branches (Youtube, Chrome etc.) will be more independent, with little supervision from their creators. Interestingly, they won’t be financed equally.

Additionally, all Google products will have new Alphabet names, the only thing that doesn’t change is Google stock name because GOOG or GOOGL are still valid.

Google creator also informed us about their future plans:

Sergey and I are seriously in the business of starting new things. Alphabet will also include our X lab, which incubates new efforts like Wing, our drone delivery effort.

The change is really exciting, not only because it concerns one of the biggest and important companies. I think that I speak for everyone, when I say that we are thrilled and can’t wait to see what’s next in stock for us.
