About the client

Actificent is a UK-based technology consultancy focused on adding business value by leveraging and harnessing the power of Big Data.

The company was created in 2016 by experienced engineers and consultants with experience across Fortune 100 companies.

Actificent applies cutting edge technologies and techniques to assist businesses with better decision-making tools, improved reaction times and required agility to foster as a data-driven competitive player.

Thanks to a partial involvement in a previous project with Future Processing, Actificent was aware of the quality of our services and therefore decided to use our skills again for their own project.

New and better solution

Our task was to create a microservice responsible for counting metrics for specific events (such as tagging, accessing, or downloading a file), based on a massive stream of data from Apache Kafka. The service was designed to cater to up to 30K such events per minute.

The microservice will enable our client to run metric reports and draw conclusions based on the processed Big Data.

Apart from the quality of our offering, the client appreciated our ability to challenge the status quo and propose new or better solutions to a problem.
